The CREATE Scholarship Program
The CREATE Mentoring Program exists to educate and inspire students to pursue career pathways which create the built environment. Industry professionals assist student teams in a seven-month competition to complete a real-world RFP. Students complete a needs assessment, a cost estimate, site plans, a physical model and complete a final presentation in front of industry judges before attending an end-of-year awards banquet.

Trades Day
Trades Day is designed to introduce high school youth to a variety of career opportunities in the industry including general construction, sub-contracting, suppliers, heavy equipment, engineering, and the related trades. The event also provides direct recruitment and placement opportunities for industry employers and trades participating in the event. The goal of Trades Day is to reach more than 1,500 local high school students with nearly 70 hands-on exhibitor and demonstration areas.

Design/Build Event
Following defined criteria provided by the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange Education Foundation (SRBXEF), each team completes the challenge of designing and preparing construction documents for a 96 square-foot structure — which are submitted for plan review by volunteer community plan-checkers and professional architects.  Any required corrections must be submitted prior to the construction phase of the project, which take place over a two-day period under supervision and a primary focus on safety!
