Tips on the Membership search page
The results in a keyword search come up based on how many times the keyword(s) appear on the particular page and in the meta tags. The meta tags are keywords in the code not visible by you. If someone does a search for “kitchen remodeling” and there are two companies with these keywords, but one is named Acme Kitchen Remodeling and the other is named Acme Design World, Acme Kitchen Designs will come up first because they have the keywords in their company name, title, meta keywords and probably in their company description so they are ranked higher (just like browser search engines work).
It is a good idea to use keywords that are not used otherwise on the page. If the company name is Acme Kitchen Remodeling they are going to automatically come up when someone searches for kitchen or remodeling, so you should use keywords like kitchen remodelers, kitchen design/build or kitchen contractor. The same goes for the company descriptions. The more variations of the keywords, the better chance you will have of coming up in the search results.
Each member listing will be allowed up to five keywords.
Below is an example of a member listing that is well written. 50 word maximum for profile listing.
